Mythbusters is great show. I’ve learned all sorts of interesting things on Mythbusters.

I’ve learned that throwing a penny off the Empire State Building is harder than it sounds. I’ve also learned that if a penny did fall all the way to the ground from that height, it wouldn’t have enough force to kill a person.

I’ve learned that it would be highly unlikely for a ninja to be able to catch an arrow during battle.

I’ve learned that the fastest way to cool a can of beer (or soda) is to use a fire extinguisher. It only takes about three minutes. But a more practical method is to put your beer (or soda) in salty ice water.

I’ve learned that driving your car underneath a semi-truck like they do in the movies will indeed turn your car into an instant convertible.

I’ve learned that it takes the force of two tanks to rip apart two phonebooks with the pages intertwined together.

I’ve learned that you can build a bridge out of duct tape. You can also build a boat out of duct tape.

I’ve learned that it’s possible to tenderize meat with high explosives.

See, who says TV isn’t educational? Now if you’ll excuse me I think I’ll go watch one more episode before bed.

Vitaminwater Smoothie

Pictured here are the ingredients of the smoothie I just made. I used orange vitaminwater, Edy’s vanilla frozen yogurt, strawberries, raspberries and bananas. This was my first foray into vitaminwater smoothies and I really didn’t know what to expect. I was a little worried that it would be totally nasty.

It was actually quite good. In fact, it only took me a few minutes to drink the whole thing. I think this whole vitaminwater smoothie concept deserves further experimentation.

My Bathroom Is Clean!

I, Mr Nethead, have just cleaned my bathroom! Now there’s two reasons a guy like me would clean the bathroom. Reason one, company is coming over. Reason 2, it’s so disgusting that I find myself thinking, “wow, this is too gross even for me.”

So I mopped the floor, scrubbed the tub, washed the basin, and cleaned the toilet. After doing all that my first thought was, “I never want to use this bathroom again.”

But how can I avoid using my bathroom? I do, after all, live here. Perhaps I could use my neighbours’ bathrooms. This is sorta how I imagine that scenario going down.

*knock knock* “Yeah, hi, I was wondering if I could use your bathroom.”

“Well… I guess so. Is there something wrong with your bathroom?”

“No. It’s just clean and I don’t want to mess it up again.”

*neighbour slams door in my face*

Ketchup Chips!

So today I returned to our local Walmart retail store with the intention of purchasing a TV stand and toilet bowl cleaner. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d find an item as magical as this.

KETCHUP CHIPS! Now I found these very same chips at Walmart a few years ago. But before I could go back and buy more, they stopped selling them. Apparently they’re back now and just as delicious as ever.

Let’s hope Walmart keeps them around this time.  *munches on ketchup chips*

Pretzel M&Ms!

So there I was standing in the checkout line at Walmart. I had just completed a major grocery shopping session and stood waiting in line to purchase my goods. I thought I had everything I needed to by. But little did I know, there was one more item I was destined to have.

Being bored, I looked around at all the impulse purchases at the checkout lane. I didn’t really need any lip gloss, or lighters, or Uno decks. The candy options looked mildly interesting. I pondered purchasing a Carmello, but then I spotted something different. I found…

Pretzel M&Ms! When I saw them I knew I had no choice but to buy them. For they sounded amazing and delicious and I simply couldn’t resist.

They are as good as I imagined they would be. I almost want to rush out and buy more. So if you should spot these at any of your local retailers, BUY THEM!

Midweek Thoughts – Part 20

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this very special edition of Midweek Thoughts. This is the 20th installment, which means some celebratory behavior is warranted. Of course, I didn’t want to actually spend any time, money or effort on the celebration, so I suggest you close your eyes for a moment and imagine a grandiose fireworks display and a festive pig roast. I’ll wait here. *waits*  All done? Great, let’s get on with the thoughts then.

I nearly ran over a bunny on my way to work this morning. Someone needs to sit down with the bunnies and have a stern conversation about the dangers of darting into traffic. Luckily for today’s bunny, there was no other traffic on the road at the time. If there had been, he probably wouldn’t be doing whatever it is he’s doing right now. So please bunnies, I implore you; be more careful when crossing the road!

For reasons unbeknownst to be me, I have not felt like going grocery shopping lately. The food supply at my apartment is dwindling, but that hasn’t been enough to motivate a shopping trip. I’m usually too tired to go shopping after work. ‘Cause ya know, after working a long day all I wanna do is lay on the couch, watch TV, text my girlfriend and drink cold beverages. But I’m off work tomorrow, so maybe I’ll finally go grocery shopping. Or I might just lay on the couch all day, watch TV, text my girlfriend and drink cold beverages.  After all, I’m not out of food yet. I still have a few cans of corn.

I brought my briefcase to work today. Lately I’ve been having trouble fitting all my gadgets in my pockets. So then it occurred to me that I could just put them in my briefcase. Not only is it an easy way to transport my stuff, but people who see me will think I’m a responsible business professional! Responsible business professionals wear jeans and t-shirts to work right?

Dinner Time Again!

Well I still haven’t gone grocery shopping, but don’t worry about me, my friends. I still have PLENTY of food to eat. Anyway, dinner time!

Doesn’t that just look delicious?

Dinner Time!

I don’t know why, but for some reason I just haven’t felt like going grocery shopping lately. It’s actually been weeks since I’ve gone on any major grocery shopping trip. Oh well, I’m sure everything will work out just fine. Anyway, it’s time for dinner!

Hmmm… maybe I should go grocery shopping.

Things That Make Me Happy

Life is full of ups and downs, hills and valleys, joy and pain, happiness and crappiness and so forth and so on. In this blog entry I’m going to list some of the things that make me happy.

  • My girlfriend. She’s sweet, she’s pretty, kind and considerate. And she makes really good cupcakes.
  • A DVR full of Mythbusters. Mythbusters is a great show. So when I hit the “My DVR” button on my remote and see that it’s 98% full of Mythbusters, I’m a pretty happy man.
  • Seeing a jerkopie get his comeuppance. Sure it’s great to see, but I really just wanted an excuse to use the words “jerkopie” and “comeuppance.”
  • Air conditioning. The days are long and hot in the summer, but the A/C keeps me nice and cool.
  • Soda in glass bottles. There’s just something about soda in glass. It seems cold, sweeter and well… better.
  • Signing on to Facebook and seeing that I have 20 notifications. Usually when I sign on, I have at most 5. But that’s probably because I check Facebook 50 times a day.
  • Chocolate. Who doesn’t like chocolate? I mean besides people who are allergic to it. I feel very very sorry for those people.
  • Cheese. There are so many different varieties of cheese. So many different ways to eat cheese. Cheese is awesome.
  • Burger King. I love a good buck double. Yummeh!

And that, my friends is a very short list of some of the things that make me happy. It’s far from a complete list and I’ll probably do another list at some point. But in the meantime, what are some things that make YOU happy?

Lemon Drop Jelly Belly Soda

As some of my blog readers may know, I’m a huge fan of lemon flavored things. Lemonade, lemon iced tea, lemon gum, lemon Jelly Belly jelly beans, and yes lemon soda. Needless to say, when I was walking through the grocery store the other day and saw this product, I just had to buy it.

It’s delicious! Not only is it sweetened with cane sugar, it’s also flavored with natural lemon flavor. It’s very lemony and very delicious. If you should encounter this product, I suggest you buy it.

The grocery store had a few other Jelly Belly sodas I’m looking forward to trying. Perhaps I will post blogs about them as well.
