$100 Food Budget – Day 25

I found a bag of Smarties hidden under a pile of mail the other day. They’ve served well as my sugar fix. This particular batch of Smarties was manufactured in Canada. Ironically, this type of candy is not known as Smarties when sold in Canada; they are called Rockets instead. Of course, Canada does have Smarties too, but they’re a different type of candy. Canadian Smarties are a chocolate candy similar to m&ms.

I didn’t buy any food today.

Total Spent: $89.87

Remaining Cash: $10.13

$100 Food Budget – Day 13

So I found myself craving chocolate a while ago. I think chocolate is one of those substances you crave more when you know you don’t have any. Well, it turns out I did have some after all. I found a bag of chocolate chips in my pantry! Chocolate isn’t just for the ladies, folks. I know the Dove chocolate wrappers are sexist and biased toward women, but men usually like chocolate too.

Did you know that chocolate releases endorphins in the brain and gives people a sense of well-being? It also stimulates a chemical reaction in the brain which mimics the feeling of being in love. No wonder people love chocolate.

I didn’t spend any money today.

Total Spent: $49.36

Remaining Cash: $50.64

Do Not Buy This Product!

If you should find yourself shopping at the store, and you come across this product, DO NOT BUY IT!

It may very well be the most delicious chocolate I have ever tasted. These “Wonka Exceptionals Scrumdiddlyumptious Chocolate Pieces” are milk chocolate with scrumptious toffee, crispy cookie and crunchy peanuts. Oh. My. Goodness. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to keep myself from eating the entire bag.

They have a couple other flavors too. One of them is a white and milk chocolate swirl. The other seems to be a dark chocolate with a mound of milk chocolate in the center.

Pray for me.

The Dot Box

It was a warm sunny day in March when a man in the great state of Wisconsin spotted a Dot box sitting on his desk. “Surely I had previously consumed those delicious Dots”, the man thought to himself. “Perhaps I should dispose of the box.”

Intending to discard the box in a waste receptacle, our young protagonist was shocked to discover the box was not empty after all.

This was a lucky occurrence for our young fellow, because not only did the Dot box contain Dots, it contained yellow Dots – the flavor he favored most. “I shall eat those Dots, he thought to himself!” And so it was, that on that fine, sunny afternoon, he consumed the remaining Dots from the Dot box.

Upon consumption of the delicious Dots, the young man felt a bit melancholy and yet joyful as well. He was happy to have eaten the Dots, but sad that the Dot box was now empty indeed.

Super Bowl Sunday

Today is a day to celebrate. Tonight we see the culmination of another great NFL season. It’s a time to reminisce and remember all the sorrow the joy, the great catches, great throws and bone-crunching hits. For most of us, our teams didn’t make it this far. But we celebrate anyway and await many more awesome seasons of the greatest sport on earth. So let us eat, drink and be merry for today is Super Bowl Sunday.
