Hey, That Cereal Looks Kinda Like Cheerios!

So yesterday when I was texting my friend Leah, she alerted me to the existence of a brand new variety of Cheerios. Chocolate Cheerios! Doesn’t that sound like a rather odd combination?

Being a cereal lover, I knew that I had to try these new Cheerios, despite the inherent weirdness of it. To be honest, Chocolate Cheerios don’t sound very appetizing, and they don’t look so great either.

Honestly, they look more like some sort of bran cereal than anything chocolaty delicious. They also kinda resemble something you’d give a dog. But looks aren’t everything right?

Chocolate Cheerios taste and smell a lot like Cocoa Puffs. The main difference is that the Cheerios are not nearly as sweet. So if you’re interested in a cereal that tastes like another delicious cereal except less delicious, then Chocolate Cheerios may be right for you.

Quaker’s Honey Graham Oh’s

I’ve always been a cereal fan. I’m particularly fond of cereals with a sweet touch of honey. Honey Comb, Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey Nut Chex, and Honey Bunches of Oats are all examples of some very delicious cereals. The first time I saw Honey Graham Oh’s at the store, I was excited about the possibilities. I like honey cereals, and I like graham crackers so it seemed like a great mix!

Honey Graham Oh’s taste about the way you’d imagine. They’re very reminiscent of graham crackers, while adding a touch of honey. The flavor from the milk bonds well and forms an overall delicious composition.

This cereal suffers from a fatal flaw though. It’s way too hard! If you were to take shards of glass, pour milk on top of them, and then eat them with a spoon, that would be a somewhat similar experience. The biggest difference would be that the cereal is delicious and glass probably doesn’t taste like much.

Despite the hazardous nature of this cereal, I still purchase it on occasion. It just tastes that good. But if you do decide to try it, be sure to eat it very slow and deliberately. Quickly shoveling it in your mouth will result in painful abrasion.  Also, if you eat the cereal in individual pieces as a snack, it’s not quite as harsh. I do not recommend eating it two days in a row. (That is, unless you enjoy having the roof of your mouth torn off.)
